Save the date, but I’m open to consultation to change the date to facilitate participation. We won’t lock the date in until early February 2025. This may be my last Simpson Desert crossing before I turn my eyes to the west. The preliminary plan is; Santa Teresa, Old Andado, Mt Dare, Dalhousie, Purni Bore, Poeppel Corner, Birdsville, Innaminka, Cameron’s Corner of 3 States, Tibooburra & Sturt National Park. Then onto the Strzelecki Track to Marree, William Creek, Oodnadatta, Mt Dare, Lambert Centre, Kulgera, Stuart’s Well & home. The trip would be under 2 weeks & would be limited to 8 vehicles, Full Members only. Preliminary notice only, dates & itinerary up for discussion.

0800 depart Mt Dare for Dalhousie Springs, Purni Bore, camp 2 in the Simpson Desert National Park (fires permitted)
Tuesday 29th April 2025;
Camp on SA NT border up Coulson Track (some scrub & wood available)
Wednesday 30th April 2025;
Camp before Poeppel Corner
Thursday 1st May 2025;
Birdsville, Tourist Park or Birdsville Hotel
Friday 2nd May 2025;
Birdsville recovery, repairs, refuel & look around
Saturday 3rd May 2025;
Cameron Corner, camp
