Alice Springs; muster at Heavitree Gap at 0800.
From South; meet at the entrance to Mac Clark Reserve at 1200.
Madigan Line to Camp 15, Hay River Track to Poeppel Corner, QAA to Birdsville, Birdsville Track to Maree, Oodnadatta Track to William Creek, Dalhousie, Mt Dare & return.
Save the dates; Leave Alice Springs; Sunday 28th April 2024 to Wednesday 8th May 2024. 11 days, 2,400 kms, longest run without refuelling approximately 850km.
Camps Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday nights, on The Madigan Line, then Hay River
Track to Poeppel Corner, camp Thursday night on QAA, cross Big Red & Friday night in Birdsville, camping Cabins or Hotel & a good Pub Meal. A Camel Pie for Breakfast. Saturday night at the Maree Hotel. Sunday night at or near Oodnadatta, Lunch at Dalhousie Springs, Monday night at Mt Dare, Binns Track via Andado then Tuesday or Wednesday night, 8th May 2024, Alice Springs.
This will be a long trip with food & water for 8 days required before a restocking opportunity at Birdsville. Total time about 11 days.
Full recovery gear, food, drinks required. Trailers are discouraged however not impossible with discussion & inspection.
