UPDATE TRIP
Due to weather conditions the government has decided to close Old Police station waterhole. New trip is as follows

when: 7/04/23 – 10/04/23
Where: Runnings waters Finke gorge national park
plan:
07/04/23 – Meet up at Heavi tree servo at 9:00 for departure. Travel down the stuart highway to the ernst giles. From there we make our way through Running waters.
08/094/23 – 09/04/23 – Spend a few days relaxing, swimming and exploring the area.
10/04/23 – Leave camp around 9 or 10 and head out via boggy hole through the hermannsburg (can stop for lunch if you would like) and home via larapinta drive.

A high clearance 4×4 is recommended for this trip by NT Parks and changing road conditions.

Equipment required:
Normal communications and recovery equipment
plenty of fuel (main trip is approximately 600km round trip with off-roading and sand driving being present.
all camping supplies and food for your trip for the 3 nights away
medical kit
spare tire or 2
firewood to share
basic tool kit
water
any activities, you would like to bring
yabbie nets and canoe if you like that sort of thing
