A small group will join Ian on the Mt Dare Trip and follow until Dalhousie Springs. From there we will be continuing into the Simpson Desert. In these challenging times the Madigan Line as the Hay River Track are off limits. We want to trundle alone the French Line setting camps close to Purni Bore and along the track with the plan to reach Birdsville on Thursday. We will stay the night at the Birdsville Hotel and enjoy a pub meal for dinner. Unfortunately the Birdsville Bakery is still undergoing a restructuring under new ownership so we may result to camp breakfast. It will be a short day up north to Boulia. There we will stay at the Desert Sands Hotel. From there we will take the Plenty Highway back to The Alice and intend to be back on Saturday evening. This will allow time to experience the desert and not drive too long distances per day off road.
