‘The Finke’, ‘Finkeing’, ‘Dusty Long Weekend’. Call it what you will, it is probably one of the largest events on the Alice Springs motorsport calendar, and comes around once a year, every June long weekend.

This year, we had members positioned in various roles up and down the track. A couple were driving sweep vehicles, some were admin officials at the half way point, some were volunteering their time in the food service at the start/finish line over the weekend.

Wherever they were, members reported that they had a great time doing their varied roles. No damage was reported to any vehicles (the sweeps got a bit bouncy in the ‘whoops’) and everyone completed their assigned roles successfully.

Looking forward to the 42nd Finke in 2017.
