Clean Up Australia Day

6 March 2016 -

Massive effort by those who turned up to help clean up our local tracks on Clean Up Australia Day! It was an extremely hot day, so it was great to see a few people turn up and help out for a few hours. We managed to fill two ute loads from an area on the east side and the ghan pans. The ghan pans were particular messy with locals illegally dumping building material and other waste behind the Transport Hall of Fame. A little disappointing to see that people so casually dump their waste in our beautiful bushland.

Nevertheless, the drive was scenic and even the kids pulled on their gloves and helped out a bit.

We couldn’t quite fit the Jeep Wrangler in a plastic bag to take to the tip, but it did manage to get home with a little help from the AANT after it sustained a cracked radiator head. Thanks again to Johno (F250), Steve (Rubicon), Leo (Wrangler), Michael (Hilux), and the kids for helping out.
