Sunday Session

10 January 2016 -

This was the second trip of the New Year and it was well worth it! The sky put on quite a show for us – the sunset was just amazing. Unfortunately, we arrived at our sunset/drinks spot after dark, but we got to see the Alice Springs lights from a very clear spot on the range.

We started just after 5pm from the Hungry Jacks carpark. We drove north just past Geoff Moss Bridge and took the second left to get to the rail line and followed this South all the way until we met up with Lovegrove Drive, where we took the track into the hills.

We had a slightly ‘different’ vehicle with us – a Mitsubishi Canter. At first we thought there was no way he would get through these tracks, but he proved us wrong. There were a couple of scrapes and tight spots, but he made it in the end and provided us all with hours of entertainment.

All in all, a great afternoon/night – we all had a nice relaxing drink and chat at the lookout at the end of the drive and we were home by about 10pm.
