Standley Chasm, Owen Springs & Redbank Waterhole, Feb 2023

27 Feb 2023 by Ian Clarke

Trip leader Peter Sallows lead us out to Standley Chasm for a late Breakfast, which was thoroughly enjoyed by over 20 Members & Guests. Most of the group then took the scenic route through the Owen Springs Reserve which still showed signs of life from the January rains. The group viewed the Station Ruins & Haunted Tree Bore, before proceeding through to Redbank Waterhole which still had a large amount of water. We set up in the Hugh River bed where we enjoyed a cool breeze from the water. Peter supplied & cooked BBQ for everyone was much appreciated by all. We spent a leisurely couple of hours in the cool, before departing, some airing back up at the Stuart Highway & returning to Alice Springs.
