Myster track dinner

17:30 arrived and off we go. Into the unknown. Over the first hump and up a few hills we climb. The first few hill climbs gave a sense of what is to come. But THEN.
The hill I vaguely remember. All getting too the bottom we looked upon the challenge that was yet to come. Whilst we make our way down the long steep decent we all parked at the bottom. The closer we got the worst (or more challenging) the next climb looked. With the other 2 vehicles being close to stock and mine with a medium lift we thought a look is in order.

Walking up the hill we find plenty of holes, plenty of ruts and lots of shale and loose surface. Looking at the hill and contemplating for a while of different line options (including a chicken track around), the first in line decided to at least give it a go. Making the way up the hill with a few wheel lifts their and a few repositioning there upwards I went. With Prashant being designated spotter.

Until. the one part that was always going to catch an unlocked vehicle out (also one with little articulation). Once getting their and assessing the situation a few more times track building and max trax were tried. But one could not simply make it over (in the end long wheelbase and loss of traction). With the sun getting lower and almost gone a change of tactic was made to reverse down 2/3rds of the hill and admit defeat. The next slight problem was a little shuffling back and forth had to be done to reposition the rear end of the vehicle back on the track away from the bank.

Once down onwards we went via the chicken track. Up and down a few more challenging hills thanks to recent rain. With a few of the lower slung vehicles using bash plates for what they are meant for we continued. Eventually, well after sun had gone down (my bad) we made our way to widow maker lookout.

There we had found a large…ish crowd upon the lookout having a birthday party. As we found out Jason actually knew them so we stayed around the fire and had a few drinks and a chat. 830 came around and we made a decision to make our way down from the look out and decided to go back to my place and cook a meal on the BBQ instead after a fairly tiresom drive (I did say it was a mystery track).

From there we all parted ways (about 1 in the morning :P)

Congratulations on the relatively new guys for giving what turned out to be a rather difficult track a go. Spirits and lessons were learnt that night, but best of all no damage was done. Well done Prashant for some amazing spotting. This was one of the most challenging tracks ive seen and spirits were high when we all finished.
