Four vehicles met at the petrol station at heavy tree gap and left on time for the clay pan. James joined up with us there. We went up the test hill and headed for the ridge. Every vehicle made it up without fuzz. In time for the sunset we set up camp. Enjoying food fresh from the BBQ we enjoyed stunning colours of the sunset merging with rain clouds. In darkness we made our descent. Coming along the base of the ridge James fixed a wairata bent into the path. At the Transport hall of fame we said farewell for the day. It has been a great short trip.
