Trip Leader: Bernhard Kuepper

Due to unexpected unavailability of Kirsten this is a days trip now. We can stay into the night and have a fire.

Meet at Heavy Tree Gap servo at 10.15am for a prompt 10.30am start. It is approx. 160km south of Alice Springs via Old South Road. The road is mostly gravel and can become quite corrugated. There are also sand dunes, so the lead vehicle will use a sand flag, but if you also have one, please feel free to bring it.

We should get to Chambers Pillar by lunchtime. We can get there, have lunch, set up camp, etc. Happy to go with the flow on the day. There is a nice walk at Chambers Pillar, too.

Facilities: There are toilets, picnic areas, and fire pits out there. You will need to bring your own gas stove if cooking by stove top.

Pets are not permitted. And we must bring our own firewood, as collection is not permitted on the reserve.

It should be quite cold then, so please dress for the weather and make sure you have warm boots.

In the evening we will pack up and head back to Alice.

Please ensure you have enough fuel and water for the trip. BYO food and camping equipment.
