11 September 2016 -

Sunday morning, 9am. 6 vehicles (a great selection today – Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Toyota Prado, Isuzu MU-X, Landrover Discovery, and Toyota HiLux) gathered to journey through some light 4WDing and introduction to some local tracks. 3 member and 3 guest vehicles set off shortly after 9am, and after addressing our first obstacle – a scuffle between two arguing relations – in the middle of the road.

We ventured off road at the end of Murray street, and made our way around to the Flagon hill lookout over the course of the next hour. After the photos and some discussion about sidewall damage on tyres and how they affect the capabilities of vehicles we headed down the hill toward the widomaker with some educational stops on the way that address line choices on the trail and the subtle differences between vehicles. Once we reached the Widowmaker, a few opted to ride as passengers on a couple of the steep climbs and descents, while others chose to just watch.

We made out way out toward the end of Albrecht drive, where participants were tested in how much side lean they could tolerate, all made it through unscathed. And everyone was home by lunch time.

Location
