Eastside Tracks

21 August 2016 -

6 vehicles attended for a short trip out through the Eastside crown lands from Eagle court to Undoolya road and the ‘pot-belly’ lookout.

Mostly flat level ground with a couple of tricky sections for those that were keen.

Unfortunately today the climb was a bit much for the FJ cruiser, but all the others that attempted were successful.

On a detour from the main track, one short climb claimed a few underbelly scratches, some sidewall scrapes on the tyres, some paint from the back corner of the black Prado, and testing the strength of Kaymar steel on the Patrol. Fortunately no people came to any injury for the day, but the Dobber’s Diary will earn some money next month.

The Johno’s in their little Wrangler got to enjoy brief sprinkle of rain while driving with their top off for the day, it didn’t appear to dampen their spirits though, as more rain loomed but never fell.

After completing a stop at the potbelly lookout on Eastside, it was decided it would make an excellent destination for a fish and chip night in the future (Saturday 15th October), we made our way back to town after enjoying the view, and said our goodbyes until next weekend – Drinks on the hill (Saturday 27th August).
