Sunday Session - Northside Tracks

25 Sep 2016 by Club Administrator

A good variety of vehicles assembled at Hungry Jacks this afternoon for a prompt 2pm start…well, we did have to wait for a certain Ford Ranger to arrive, but we managed to depart about 15 minutes late.

There were 8 4WD vehicles in total, including the Jeep Wrangler (Lead), Nissan Patrol, Toyota Land Cruiser, FJ Cruiser, Holden Colorado, Ford Ranger, Jeep Wrangler and Ford F250 (tail end Charlie).

We traversed through various terrain in North-side, including sandy creeks, rocky and semi-steep terrain. The highlight of the afternoon was seeing Johno get the ‘effy’ bogged in the sand and being recovered by the Rubicon Jeep.

It was great to see a good mix of male and female drivers of varying levels of experience. There was little damage done during the trip, however, I am sure there will be a few donations to the Dobbers Diary at the next General Meeting for a broken gear knob, mining the tracks instead of driving them, getting bogged.

We’re giving the local tracks a rest for a short time while we plan for some more areas, further afield. Our next event is a social one only, a BBQ at Wigleys Waterhole on the 15th of November, followed by a General Meeting at the DoubleTree on Barrett Drive.

Location

Wigleys Waterhole, Alice Springs
