Camping at Boggy Hole

6 Oct 2019 by Bernhard Kuepper

Two vehicles met at Flynn’s Grave and took off towards Hermannsburg. There we had a pice of apple strudel and a cold beverage.
After airing down we made our way to Boggy Hole. One abandoned Ute was way in the national park. No plates. Well we left that for the way back to look at again.
At Boggy Hole it looked like we had the place for ourselves so we picked the best place. There was water in the hole, but greenish.
So we didn’t take a cool bath.
After having sat for a while a group of several vehicles pulled up from the South. Verny nice families from QLD and TAS. A school reunion. With a faulty freewheel hub lock.
We sat around a campfire after sausages with onions and sauce for dinner.
The night was cold and the stars were clear.
After cooked breakfast we visited the police station.
Afterwards we ran into the tail of the other group going North.
They were going a wrong way so we offered to lead which we did until they were through the worst.
We parted and went a bit faster then 10-20km/h. The abandoned vehicle had disappeared.
Back in Hermannsburg we checked that the strudel was still as good as the day before.
Then we aired up and went back to Alice.
Nice memories we made!
