Harts Range trip report
A small group of us meet at the north end truck stop and departed for Harts Range at approximately 9am. The drive out was un-eventful with us arriving around midday.
We selected a campsite, setup, enjoyed a bit of lunch and then made our way over to the rodeo arena. Was a great afternoon sitting in the sun watching the carnage. At around 5pm the Rodeo finished and Allison and her crew departed back to Alice. The rest of us returned back to our campsite to find another group and more or less camped right on top of us. Never the less we got a fire going, enjoyed a few drinks, had some dinner and got ready for the evenings black tie ball with the theme of ‘op shop formal’. Was a brilliant evening (what I can remember of it) and I think everybody had a great time. Tash especially enjoyed visiting all the campsites nearby with big warm fires, they all seemed to be ‘nice people’.
Unfortunately, the wind picked up the next morning and Tash and I decided to head home at about midday. Peta and co stayed on for the second night and come home Monday.
All in all, it was a great weekend, thanks to all that came and definitely on the cards again for next year.
