Clean Up Australia Day

3 Mar 2019 by Kirsten Johnston

We got up early and headed over to the clay pans to join Landcare and the Claypan Lovers for Clean Up Australia Day. At the clay pans we pulled out an old car wreck and assisted with the rubbish clean up. After a couple of hours we went to the tip and dumped our rubbish and then proceeded over to the Eastside tracks.

Disappointing to see how much rubbish is dumped out there by the general public, when it’s only a few dollars to dump at the tip. We pulled out another car wreck on the Eastside tracks and filled two more Ute loads of rubbish. All up, we picked up and dumped approximately 980 kg of rubbish!

At about noon, we headed to the Gillen Club for some cold drinks and a well-deserved lunch.

Thanks to Bernhard, Johno, Mal, Jen, Sarah, Rosie and Bella for your hard work.
